HPCL has robust performance management system modeled on the balanced score card system covering 100% of management employees wherein employees are assessed against their performance in four quadrants viz. customer satisfaction, physical/financial, improvement in process and leaning & growth. their career progress is based on well-defined promotion policy which is transparently communicated to all management employees of the Corporation. Promotion takes place through a departmental promotion committee (DPC) process. All presidential directives in this regard are implemented.

Audit

Our auditors ensure compliance with established internal control procedures by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation. Not only are they responsible to complete audit work papers by documenting audit tests and findings but they also appraise the adequacy of internal control systems by completing audit questionnaires.

Risk Management

Great emphasis is given to Enterprise Risk management as well as Oil Price Risk management by this team. By identifying key control deficiencies and assessing its magnitude of impact, they evaluate how the risk management program is progressing.

Budget & MIS

Employees working in the Budget and MIS profile are responsible for Investor relationship management as well as creating the MIS reports and presentations to the board. It also includes revenue budgeting, working on Margin Validation and maintaining the database which keeps track of the business metrics.

Tax

Our Tax department handles both Direct and Indirect Taxation and engages Officers in Tax planning, monitoring compliance to various State and Central Tax laws as well as litigation management where need be.

Embedded Commercial Functions

With each Strategic Business Units that we have like Refineries, LPG, Retail etc. our Finance Officers get embedded and involved in various roles right from decision making committee member, tax planning, pricing, Project management, working capital monitoring, general accounting including profitability statements.

Apart from ensuring legal compliances, Officers of Department also play pivotal role in ensuring that disputes are resolved at early stage.

HR Business Partners

HRBP is a representative of the HR function to dedicated internal stakeholders like Refineries, Zones and other Business Units. They lead all HR process for the internal stakeholders. They proactively steer change management projects, identify problem areas, consult with line management, resolve employee grievances, provide HR policy guidance and engage employees. Not only do they manage the non-executive recruitment but also look at contract labour engagement, statutory compliances, employee engagement and learnings.

HRIS

This team is responsible for the support and maintenance of our HR systems. They are charged with processing employee data, generating HR-related reports, managing system upgrades, and maintaining data integrity.

Performance Management

As an organization, we lay large amount of emphasis on managing the performance of our people and placing the right person for the right job. Our PMS Team ensures setting up of goals in line with the balance score card methodology. Ensuring that goals and targets are consistently being met in an effective and efficient manner is the responsibility of this department.
